The Elvira Cisneros Senior Community Center by WellMed is
a new 35,000-plus square-foot activity center designed to
enhance the social, psychological, and physiological well-being
of older persons. Since its opening, the center has enrolled
over 1,200 people and hosts one of the largest congregate
nutrition sites in the city. Amenities at the center include
workout equipment, a Wii Fit exercise room, movie room,
and computer lab. The center has a wide array of activities
and services such as pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, arts
and crafts, educational classes, health screenings, dance
classes, falls prevention and other health classes, games,
supervised childcare, and a flu vaccine station (Oct-March).
